FUNDRAISING & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

EMPLOYER: Neurology Support Centre

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Services

HOURS OF WORK: 2 to 2.5 days per week

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Fundraising and Communications Manager will have responsibility
for leading all fundraising and communications/marketing duties at the
Neurology Support Centre (NSC). This is a new role for the
organisation and an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated,
creative individual to use their knowledge and skills to contribute to
the development of services. The manager reports directly to the
Director of Services and will also work with the Fundraising
subcommittee.

ABOUT US:

The Neurology Support Centre is a registered Charity governed by a
voluntary Board of Trustees.

NSC supports those living with the impact of a neurological condition.
Services include:

* Peer Support Groups
* Counselling
* Reflexology
* Art Therapy
* Transport
* Online Support

We have a newly refurbished premises in Molloway House in Sligo but
have been operating limited services during the Covid **Apply on the
website** pandemic. We now wish to employ someone to both increase our
fundraising income and raise awareness of our services locally and
regionally.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

_FUND-RAISING_

* Collaboration on development and implementation of the NSC
fundraising strategy
* Effective use of marketing and communications strategies to
maintain and increase income
* Relationship management across corporate, community and individual
giving
* Develop and implement legacy fundraising campaign
* Applications for grants and corporate proposals
* Organise and manage specific fundraising initiatives in
collaboration with the Fundraising subcommittee
* Ensure best practice in fundraising activities and compliance with
NSC fundraising guidelines
* Use of CRM system to include recording income; donor and volunteer
communications; preparing reports
* Ensure compliance with the GDPR, Charities Regulator Guidelines
and all relevant policies and procedures

_COMMUNICATIONS_

* Support the delivery of local and regional public awareness
campaigns.
* Assisting in updating NSC website to reflect our activities and
promoting our activities via our website and various social media
platforms
* Co-ordinating the publication of a quarterly e-newsletter to
stakeholders.
* Responding to general communications and campaign queries
* Keeping informed of developments relating to digital fundraising;
monitoring media for relevant articles and sharing internally.
* Ensure consistency of NSC branding and messaging across all
platforms.
* Support the work of the Advocacy subcommittee

ESSENTIAL

* At least two years? experience in a fundraising,
communications/marketing role
* Experience of developing and maintaining relationships with a wide
range of donors.
* Demonstrate a proven track record of past performance in this
field
* Knowledge and understanding of Irish charity sector and a talent
for fundraising practices
* Excellent planning, organisation and project management skills
* Strong creative communications and writing abilities and the
ability to write fundraising appeals and proposals
* Experienced and competent in digital communications such as
Twitter, Instagram, Facebook

DESIRABLE SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE

* Qualification in fund-raising / digital marketing / business /
communications or a related field
* Experience with a CRM system such as CHAMP, Salesforce
* Experience working with email marketing tools such as MailChimp
* Excellent office ICT skills and a knowledge of MS **Apply on the

* Experience creating digital content

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

* Interest in and commitment to issues relating to neurological
conditions and services in Ireland
* Ability to work on several projects / campaigns at the same time
* Flexible and dynamic with the ability to work well and contribute
to a team as well as to work on own initiative.
* Excellent written, verbal and telephone skills.
